2012 Registrations
Will be held at the Hockey Field on February 18th & 25th from 10am until 2pm each day. We are looking forward to all of our players returning and looking for some new players as well; Men, Women and Juniors of all abilities.
U/11 Reps Trials - Sydney Junior Hockey will be holding trials for U/11 Girl’s & Boy’s reps in March. The trials will be held at Cintra, but anyone interested must register through their club. Anyone interested should email secretary@bankstownhockey.org.au with U/11 Reps in the Subject Line. Nominations close 2nd March (Boys) and 8th March (Girls).
Coaching Courses - Sydney Hockey is running Level 1 coaching courses in Feb/Mar. We would really like to have our coaches accredited. The benefits to the coach, the team and the club are obvious. The course costs $60 and BSHC will reimburse this cost for anyone who coaches a team in the 2012 season. First Grade News
We have secured the services of Tom Persson as our First Grade Coach & Head Coach. Tom comes with many years of experience and a long record of great playing and coaching achievements. Good luck Tom and things are looking promising for our 1st grade team.
Training: Our 1st Grade and 2nd grade teams have started training and will train every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 until 9:00pm. 1st grade will hold a compulsory training session every Friday from 6:30 until 8:15pm.
Sport a Month & Trying Hockey
Council's "Sport a Month" for March is Hockey. This is a great opportunity to try Hockey, every Saturday in March, at the Hockey fields at the Crest. It is open to anyone from 5 to 55, who think they might like to give Hockey a go. There will be fun activities to introduce Hockey and learn basic skills; maybe even a short game of Hockey.
Season Start Dates
Men’s 1st & 2nd grade (Premier league) comp starts in March. Training has commenced (see above).
Other men’s grade comp start after Easter, with training starting Thurs 10th Feb 7 ‘til 9pm until teams and coaches are finalised.
Women’s comp’s start after Easter, with training starting Wed 9th Feb 7:30 ‘til 9pm.
Junior comp’s start in March, with training starting Wed 22nd Feb until teams and coaches are finalised.
