About

Bankstown Sports Hockey Club was formed in 1947. Known initially as the Canterbury-Bankstown District Hockey Club, the club has seen a number of changes in both name and uniforms over this time, but the primary aims and goals have not really changed.

Caters for all ages and abilities
Bankstown Sports Hockey Club has a good family feel and caters for players of all abilities from the very beginner to the highest level, in men's, women's and juniors. Our juniors range from U9's to U17's; and both women & men senior teams. Whatever your ability, we've probably got a team for you.

Three Clubs into one
For many years the men's, women's and junior clubs operated independently under their own committees and administration with their own histories. In 1999 the Men's and Women's clubs joined with the Junior club, to form one club under a single administration in the one great location, at The Crest of Bankstown.  Bankstown now has teams in the SEHA junior competition, the Sydney Hockey Association's Mens league and the Sydney Womens Hockey League's Metro League. We have also had teams in the SEHA women's competition and the more social Moorebank Saturday comp.

The field
Originally only a grass field at The Crest Sporting Complex, a sand based synthetic field was built on the current site. In 2005 the sand based field was upgraded to a water based synthetic, in a joint project with Bankstown City Council and the Bankstown District Sports Club. The facility is leased to the Sports Club and managed by Bankstown Sports Hockey Club.  All enquiries and bookings should be made through the Hockey club enquire here. The facility consists of the water based turf and what is still regarded as one of the best grass fields in Sydney.

Where are we?
The Crest Hockey facility is in Mount Street Georges Hall (or sometimes listed as Bass Hill).
